Improving Sleep with Neural Retraining, Lifestyle Changes, and Naturopathic Medicine

Sleep is so foundational to health, and yet, knowing that sometimes causes us to put so much pressure on sleep, that we give ourselves stress-induced insomnia!

Neural retraining can be amazing for insomnia, light sleeping, nightmares, and other sleep problems.  Why? Because it's designed to help your nervous system get into the "rest, digest, and heal" state.  We have to be in that state to sleep well naturally, and huge percentage of people today aren’t in that state most of the time!

The brain will NEVER let us fall asleep if it believes there's a threat present (whether that threat is real or not!).  The brain's job is to keep us alive, and as such, it will keep us awake and alert to any danger it thinks is present.  Well, sometimes the brain tags bed, nighttime, and sleeplessness as a threat, which then causes a self-reinforcing cycle of insomnia.

Usually in modern life, we're not faced very often with true life-threatening danger, so what the brain needs is corrective feedback.  It needs you to show it that there is no tiger in the room!  In this video, I teach you how to do that.

I also speak to lifestyle changes that can improve sleep, why it's important to not get obsessively attached to those lifestyle modifications, and some functional medicine approaches that can help improve sleep while you're trying to address the root cause, whether that be nervous system dysregulation or something else.
