What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine in the world. Through the insertion of needles, energetic channels can be accessed to bring alignment back to your body. Acupuncture is based on an energetic meridian system found within the body and its organs. The meridians (channels) encompass energy (Qi), and indicate points that correlate with disease patterns and symptoms. It gently and effectively treats a wide variety of illnesses and imbalances.

What are the benefits?

Because acupuncture focuses on correcting the underlying causes of illness as opposed to the symptoms, results can be long-lasting. Common ailments that benefit from acupuncture treatment include:

  • Pain (chronic and acute)
  • Gastrointestinal conditions
  • Hormonal and gynecological issues
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety
  • Immune support

Dr. Cureton has studied a variety of acupuncture modalities, including the use of cupping, moxa, Japanese Meridian Therapy, and several needling styles, to uniquely combine methods for an individualized approach.
